| "Over the past 20 years, my family and I have spent
a great deal of time restoring our summer home - now a designated heritage structure. We're proud of our work - soon to be reflected in a book by Stories Worth Telling." | |

| MEMORIES OF OCEAN POND (1955-1990) |
With young children and a house and business in downtown St. John's,
Newfoundland, Elsie and Bill Garland needed a break. They wanted a place in the country -
someplace they could escape to relax and enjoy the summer. In 1955, they started building a
cabin in Ocean Pond, 60 miles from town.
Ocean Pond continued to be their summer retreat for the next 35 years. They shared many good times
with their children and grandchildren throughout this period - times still remembered fondly by
family members…
Join the Garland family as they reminisce about their time in Ocean Pond…a story worth telling.

| THE CLUB GIRLS (celebrating friendship) |
Every second week for close to 40 years, a small group of
friends have been getting together for a chat and a game of cards.
Club began in 1970 when some friends decided to meet to get out of the house for an evening.
They had grown up together and they didn't want to lose their connection with each other.
The club girls have experienced much throughout the years - births of children and grandchildren,
death of parents, changes in jobs, and menopause. Club night continues to give them a chance to
discuss things that are important in their lives…
Join the club girls as they celebrate their friendship…a story worth telling.
